Heatworm Disease

Heartworm Prevention is Essential

Heartworm disease is a severe and potentially fatal disease caused by parasitic worms that live in the heart and the arteries of the lungs of primarily dogs, but can infect cats and other mammals as well. Heartworms are transmitted by mosquitoes and can be prevented by using either a monthly preventative or an injection that can last 6 months. To learn more about heartworms visit the American Heartworm Society Website. Call our office for more information and for current specials on heartworm preventatives.
